Grants Now Available for Small Businesses

Did you know?

  • Exports create jobs in America, Rounding generously, ever $200,000 increase in exports creates 1 New American job, For every 1 billion dollars of exports, approx. five thousand (5,000) new jobs are created, Success for the National Export Initiative is essential; doubling the current exporting figures within 5 years could create 2 million new jobs.

The Jobs Act is helping small businesses achieve this goal, by providing the necessary tools such as financing and counseling through the SBA.  One of these “tools” is to offer grants to induce businesses to start or to increase their exporting.  Small Businesses that have been operating at least 12 months or businesses that have the knowledge and expertise of exporting may be eligible.

These grants are currently being administered through state agencies. The Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI) will be accepting applications from MA businesses during 2 periods; now through April 2nd and April 16th through May 15th, 2012.

Please see attached the Readiness assessment and application. Please share with your colleagues and customers who may be interested in expanding their business internationally or those that are already exporting. If you have any questions, please contact:
